Saints want some silverware

Northampton director of rugby Jim Mallinder has reiterated the importance of the LV= Cup to the development of the Saints team, saying that the players want "a big atmosphere" at Franklin's Gardens on Sunday afternoon.
The LV= Cup has both silverware and a place in the 2010/11 Heineken Cup for the winners, a massive reward for whichever of the four ambitious clubs still remain in the tournament.
But before the Saints can get a shot at lifting the trophy they will have to overcome Saracens on Sunday, and the Saints' boss said that the fans can play their part.
"In your playing time you don't win many trophies," Mallinder said.
"A few lucky people have won quite a lot but the majority of rugby players don't win many things. We said at the beginning of the year, as a group, that we wanted to win things and we're saying that now.
"We know that the team and the squad will change at the end of the year, but you don't look at that now. We're far away in a way, so let's enjoy the here and now and look as a group to see what we can win.
"It is a one-off semifinal with a chance of going to a final and we're looking forward to it and wanting to play in a big atmosphere created by the supporters in the stands."
