Wasps have plenty 'sting' left in Euro race

The Premiership side produced arguably their best performance under Young's stewardship to put themselves in the driving seat in the so-called 'pool of death'.

"I could not be prouder of the players, I thought they were excellent," said Young.Wasps have plenty 'sting' left in Euro race

"There were a lot of questions before the game, was last week a one off? Could we back it up? Was it a case of Leinster being poor or us being good?

"We've shown everyone we are a quality team. We've still got things to improve on but that was close to as good as it gets."

Wasps stunned the visitors with two tries in as many minutes in the first half before two further scores after the interval capped a memorable match at the Ricoh Arena.

Young praised his players for their commitment to playing attacking rugby and insists their fine form of the last few weeks is the result of months of hard work.

He added: "We want to play good rugby and if you look at our first few games it didn't go quite right, we put a lot of balls down, but you have to keep persevering.

"The last two or three weeks things have started to look a bit more fluid and we have started to looked comfortable with the ball in hand.

"It's the way we want to play and you have to defend and get the fundamentals right as well."

James Gaskell was named man-of-the-match after a barnstorming display made all the more impressive by the fact he did not find out he was playing until the morning of the game following the late withdrawal of Bradley Davies.

"Before the season started we said would win or lose together and it would be the squad who take us to the places we want to get to," added Young.

"We have got real good strength in depth now.

"We have huge respect for Bath they are a big challenge up front and have some weapons behind so we will just enjoy tonight and prepare for the next few games."
