Bright future ahead for Leinster

While defending champions RC Toulon and Wasps battle it out for Pool Five qualification for the knock-out stages, Leinster made sure they would not suffer a season's whitewash with this impressive win with many of their up-and-coming stars giving notice of better times ahead.

"We are delighted," said head coach Leo Cullen. "We put out a lot of young guys which was an opportunity afforded to us because we were out of the competition.

"But these guys have been working incredibly hard in training every week all season and it was great to see them produce the goods with a good performance on the pitch.

"So we are very happy with this result we're still gutted that we're not involved in the competition moving forward.

"Now we just have to focus on putting in a good performance against Wasps next week. Even if we're not in with a chance of progressing, we want to play a lot better than the home game against Wasps before Christmas."

Cullen captained Leinster to their title treble in 2009, 2011 and 2012 but this was his first taste of tournament success as a coach.

"It's great to get a win," he added. "Starting off naught from four in my first year as a coach in this competition was pretty tough to take but there were a lot of positives to take from this game.
