More eye-gouging citings in Europe

Stade Francais hooker Laurent Sempéré is alleged to have made contact with the eye(s) and/or eye area of Leicester Tigers prop Marcos Ayerza in the 34th minute of their European Champions Cup Round Six match.

The complaint was by the match citing commissioner Peter Ferguson (Ireland).

Pat Barriscale (Ireland) has been appointed as the independent judicial officer for the disciplinary hearing which will take place in London on Wednesday.

Stade lock Paul Gabrillagues has also been cited for eye-gouging in the same game. He is is alleged to have made contact with the eye(s) and/or eye area of the Leicester Tigers prop Dan Cole in the 48th minute of that match. 

The complaint was by the match citing commissioner Ferguson.

Barriscale has been appointed as the independent judicial officer for the disciplinary hearing which will also take place on Wednesday.

 

Under World Rugby's Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 10.4 (m), contact with the eye(s) and/or eye area carries the following sanction entry points – low end: 12 weeks; mid-range: 18 weeks; top end: 24 to 208 weeks.

More eye-gouging citings in EuropeMeanwhile, Tigers hooker Tom Youngs was cited for punching.

Youngs is alleged to have punched the Stade Francais Paris prop Rabah Slimani in the 52nd minute of the match. He was shown a yellow card for the incident by match referee George Clancy (Ireland).

The complaint was made by the match citing commissioner Ferguson .

Roger Morris (Wales) has been appointed as the independent judicial officer for the disciplinary hearing which will take place by video conference on Wednesday

Scarlets lock Maselino Paulino was also cited for punching in his team's game against Northampton Saints

Paulino is alleged to have struck the Saints lock, Courtney Lawes in the 49th minute of the match. Paulino was shown a yellow card for the incident by match referee Pascal Gauzere (France).

The complaint was made by the match citing commissioner Yves Thieffine (France).

Jeremy Summers (England) has been appointed as the independent judicial Officer for the disciplinary hearing in London on Wednesday.

Under World Rugby's Sanctions for Foul Play, Law 10.4 (a), striking with a hand, arm or fist, carries the following sanction entry points – low end: two weeks; mid range: five weeks; top end: eight to 52 weeks.
