Saracens' Taylor wants to finish on a high

Taylor impressed for Scotland during this year's Six Nations, scoring two tries and helping Vern Cotter's side beat France for the first time in a decade.

And his club form has not let off since the Championship – Taylor was this week voted players' player of the season at Saracens.

The 26-year-old will start at outside centre against Racing 92 in Lyon this afternoon and is excited about the chance to end Sarries' long wait for European silverware.

"I've had a run free of injuries, and I've felt comfortable this season, mostly playing at 13," said Taylor.

"When you have been to finals before, it becomes known territory.

"And that can only build your confidence, knowing what it takes to win.

"With the experience we've had over the last few years in these big European games, and with guys becoming internationals, that really helps.

"We know what to expect in these games, we aren't as anxious or nervous because we've been there before.

"We've learned a lot together as a squad over the past four or five years.

"We've played in a lot of big games as a team and they've taught us a lot.

"The togetherness of the squad really shines through in these tight encounters and it gets us over the line.

"We've done well this season but have a massive three weeks with some huge games, starting in Lyon this weekend.

"It's going to be a huge test for the squad and we're all really excited."
