Sharks add league duo to their Euro squad

The Sharks are attempting to halt reigning champions Saracens' bid to equal Munster tournament record of 13 successive victories.

The two Premiership sides meet in the back-to-back matches this month, starting with a Round Three clash at Allianz Park on Saturday.

Saracens, who won all nine games in taking the Champions Cup title for the first time last season, have already built up a five-point lead at the top of Pool Three with successive wins over Toulon and Scarlets.Sharks add league duo to their Euro squad

The 25-year-old Charnley, an England rugby league international who signed on for the Sharks after helping Wigan win the Super League Grand Final, has already made two appearances in rugby union, while Samoan international Solomana has joined from Castleford after scoring 57 tries in 41 games for the Tigers.

Saracens have wasted no time in adding new Australian recruit Will Skelton to their squad.

The Wallaby lock has signed a short-term contract with the English and European champions following the retirement of Alastair Hargreaves.

The 18 times capped Skelton is battled hardened having played on Australia's recent European tour. His last Test was in the win over France in Paris on November 19.

Another giant lock joining the European fray will be Glasgow Warriors' new recruit, Brian Alainu'uese. He stands just over two metres tall, and tips the scales at just over 127 kilogrammes, and joined the Warriors from Waikato.

Flyhalf Rory Clegg has also been added to their squad by the Warriors, while Wasps have re-signed hooker Ed Shervington.

Ulster have added fit-again prop Wiehahn Herbst to their squad and Leinster have drafted in flyhalf Ross Byrne.

Each club may select three additional players during the course of the pool stage, one of whom must be a front row player.

The nominated additional player will replace a registered member of the club's squad and no club will exceed 41 players at any time during the pool stages.

The deregistered player may return to the squad at a later date during the pool stage and replace the additional player he was originally replaced by. Clubs must ensure that the additional player has not been nominated in a match squad of another club in the same tournament during the current season.

The additional player will be eligible to play in the next round of pool matches if his nomination is received by EPCR by noon on the Tuesday before the match.

The player must have at least a three-month contract with the club.

The following players have been nominated by their clubs as additional players for the 2016/17 European Rugby Champions Cup and Challenge Cup tournaments. The players replaced in the club squads (maximum of 41 players) have been deregistered. All nominations are subject to Union approval.
