Toulon owner under investigation for risky comments
NEWS: European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) is currently carrying out an investigation into comments made by Toulon President Mourad Boudjellal when he defended Mathieu Bastareaud.
Bastareaud faces a hearing on Wednesday over homophobic insults and could be suspended for the Six Nations.
Boudjellal's comments were published on January 14 in an article on the website rugbyrama.fr regarding the alleged verbal abuse by Bastareaud of a Benetton player during a Champions Cup match
"What I'm worried about is the mormon side of the EPCR with its Welsh and Irish [administrators]," the outspoken and controversial comic book magnate told the rugby website.
"They're people who sell morality even though they don't possess any.
"The same who have ministers who get whipped in private but portray themselves as 'clean' in public."
The EPCR said it may bring a disciplinary charge against Boudjellal if it considers that the reported comments amount to misconduct under its Disciplinary Rules.
