New Leicester Tigers coach Heyneke Meyer is looking for a new specialist No.10, with word he might pilfer from his previous union, the Blue Bulls.
Amongst new developments in the Tigers camp, is the departure of star flyhalf Andy Goode, who has recently signed with French Top 14 club Brive.
Meyer's replacement preferences for the pivotal position have been thought to possibly include the likes of Morné Steyn or Derick Hougaard, who are currently playing for his former union, the Blue Bulls.
Brive coach Laurent Seigne, on the other hand, announced Goode's arrival at the Top 14 club, who beat Leicester in the 1997 Heineken Cup Final.
"His arrival is very important because he knows how to play at the highest level," Seigne told the Leicester Mercury.
"His record speaks for itself. We needed someone here who knows exactly where the goal-posts are and he knows that. He also comes from a winning machine," he added.
It is thought that Goode has joined Brive on a two-year deal, with the option of an additional year, and that the French club will pay a transfer fee of around £150,000 (ZAR 2,3 million)
Leicester have already boosted their flyhalf resources for next season's endeavors with the signing of former England international Toby Flood from Newcastle.
The move has ended weeks of speculation over Goode's future, with Tigers Chairman Peter Tom revealing: "Heyneke's view, which we share, is that we wouldn't want to keep an unhappy player."
