Tue, 19 Aug 2008 16:42

Sale Sharks have announced the signing of 22-year-old utility back Anitelia (Andy) Tuilagi, who has joined the Guinness Premiership club on a four-year contract.

Formerly with Leicester Tigers, Tuilagi played seven games for Leeds Carnegie last season, scoring one try.

Tuilagi has been capped 14 times by Samoa and was a member of their squad at the 2007 World Cup.

Chief executive James Jennings said: "Andy is very talented young player with huge potential. I am sure that he will be a great success at Sale Sharks."

Director of rugby Philippe Saint Andre said, was equally excited about the signing.

"Andy is a great acquisition for the club. He is young, strong and has played at international level. I am sure he will prove to be a great signing for us."
