Vyvyan, Aguero back for Sarries

Tue, 19 Aug 2008 23:32

Saracens continue their preparations for the upcoming Guinness Premiership and European season with a warm-up match against newly promoted French Top 14 side Toulon on Wednesday.

The match sees Hugh Vyvyan and Matias Aguero get their first action of the pre-season.

The duo have both recovered from surgery in the close season to earn a place on the plane to France for the match against Tana Umaga's side at the Stade Mayol.

Aguero (hernia) and Vyvyan (hip) missed the games against Bayonne and Western Force, as they continued their rehabilitation from surgery, but both are in the starting line-up in a side that also includes Dan Scarbrough, Moses Rauluni and is captained by Kevin Sorrell.

The all-international front row of Aguero, Fabio Ongaro and Cobus Visagie is supported in the forwards by the likes of Don Barrell, Dave Seymour and Ben Skirving.

Of course, Saracens are also in action on Friday night against the Dragons at Rodney Parade for their final warm-up match before the start of the season.

Those players not involved against Toulon will feature in the trip to Wales and the squad for that match will be announced later in the week.

Saracens: 15 Dan Scarbrough, 14 Rodd Penney, 13 Kevin Sorrell (captain), 12 Mike Stanley, 11 Noah Cato, 10 Gordon Ross, 9 Moses Rauluni, 8 Ben Skirving, 7 Dave Seymour, 6 Don Barrell, 5 Harry Spencer, 4 Hugh Vyvyan, 3 Cobus Visagie, 2 Fabio Ongaro, 1 Matias Aguero.
Replacements: 16 Alex Walker, 17 Tom Mercey, 18 Rob Anderson, 19 Will Fraser, 20 Mickey Wilson, 21 Owen Farrell, 22 Edd Thrower.

Date: Wednesday, August 20
Venue: Stade Mayol, Toulon
Kick-off: 19.30 (17.30)
