Jones itching to get stuck into GP

Fri, 29 Aug 2008 12:19

The start of the Guinness Premiership season is just over a week away, and Director of Rugby Eddie Jones admitted he is excited about what is to come over the next nine months.

Jones is clearly chomping at the bit to get the action underway and that was clear when he met with the UK media at the Guinness Premiership launch at the Park Lane Hilton on Wednesday.

Saracens are in action against Harlequins at the London Double Header on Saturday, September 6 when all four London clubs come together to play back-to-back matches and kick off the new season in style.

"I am really excited and can't wait for it all to begin," explained the Director of Rugby.

"It's a tough competition where all 12 teams are capable of beating each other at home or away. To win the Guinness Premiership, you have to be fit, smart, skilful, aggressive and hard-working - these are the very things that we have been working on in pre-season."
