Big dreams: Tigers boss Heyneke Meyer
Whilst clearly delighted with Wednesday's win over Northampton, Tigers coach Heyneke Meyer admits he does not know how many more late comebacks he can cope with!
The former Blue Bulls coach saw his side score two late tries to overcome the Saints on Wednesday night and admitted afterwards that he had been very pleased with his sides attitude and composure when their backs were against the wall.
Having suffered their first defeat of the season against London Wasps on Friday night, the Tigers, with the help of Dan Hipkiss and Toby Flood, where able to return to winning ways and secure their spot in second place on the Guinness Premiership log.
English centre Hipkiss scored first in the final minutes, before new signing Flood followed him over the Northampton line - through a long-range intercept - to hand Meyer a remarkable late victory.
"My hair is grey after only five games, so I don't know how I will survive the season.
"There was a lot of pressure on the players after the defeat to Wasps and they showed a lot of character.
"I'm very proud of the guys. They played great rugby in the first half, but we didn't execute. I thought if we kept pressuring them in the second half, the tries would come and that's how it turned out.
"I knew we had to keep playing direct and positive in the second half (and) I thought Hipkiss's experience made a big difference."
