Gloucester boss praises academy pair

Dean Ryan has praised some of his talented youngsters for the role they have already played in Gloucester’s campaign and expects they have even more influential roles to play this year.
Academy stars Dave Lewis and back row Apo Satala both impressed for Ryan’s men in their 25-21 win over Saracens at Vicarage Road on Sunday and Ryan could not be more pleased with their progress.
Speaking to BBC Radio Gloucester Ryan said: "I thought scrumhalf David Lewis played really well as a young player. He looked the part out there.
"I thought he did himself a huge amount of credit," he added.
"It is very difficult for the academy lads because they sit around the edges for an awfully long time and then suddenly the spotlight comes on them for one go."
Regarding Satala the head coach said: "He came on and had some cameo 20 minutes but that was a full on 80-minute performance and he did himself a lot of good."
