Homeward bound: Philippe Saint-Andre
Sale Sharks Director of Rugby Philippe Saint-Andre will leave at the end of the season, in May, to seek a new challenge, with head coach Kingsley Jones expected to slot comfortably into his vacated position.
Saint-Andre, a former France captain, guided Sale to the Guinness Premiership title in 2006 - two years after joining from Gloucester, where he occupied an identical role.
Largely tipped to return to France, with either Toulon or Biarritz Saint-Andre would not speculate on exactly where he will end up next year, saying merely that he was leaving the Sharks in search of a new challenge.
"Philippe has been at the heart of the club for the last five years and has helped make Sale Sharks one of the leading clubs in the Guinness Premiership," chief executive James Jennings said Thursday.
"His legacy provides the foundation for the club's future."
