Jones could offer Bishop a 'fresh start'

Tue, 30 Jun 2009 11:48

Sale Sharks look to be on the verge of completing the signing of Ospreys centre David Bishop after the team confirmed that he had been training with them in Carrington.

Bishop, a former Welsh Under-18 and Under-21 international, has been plagued by injury in recent seasons but will reportedly be offered a fresh start by Sharks Director of Rugby, Kingsley Jones.

"We have invited David to train with us. David has played at several levels for Wales including U21's but has suffered from injuries over the last couple of seasons," said Jones.

"He is looking for a fresh start and if he does well with us we may sit down and talk to him about signing."

With thanks to the Guinness Premiership.
