A summer signing from Bristol, second row David Attwood has made it clear he has his eye set on a starting spot in the Cherry and Whites first XV this season.
Attwood, 22, left the recently relegated Bristol during the summer to sign for Gloucester and is already looking forward to making a big impact at Kingsholm.
"I don't see this as a development year for me, I'm here and I mean business," Attwood told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
"I want to get involved in the first team squad and get on the team sheet."
The powerful lock forward is already well into his training ahead of the new season. Without injury and not involved in any summer tours, Attwood reported for training on June 1st and says now that he is feeling fit and ready for action.
"I certainly feel like I've gained quite a lot [from having trained for a month already], as I wanted to when I decided to come to Gloucester," said Attwood.
"The things that I identified that I wanted to work on I've been able to get so far, and I'm looking forward to how I'm going to shape up for the rest of the season."
Attwood is one of six second rows on the books at Gloucester - in contention for the lock spots with him will be Alex Brown, Peter Buxton, Marco Bortolami, Will James and Adam Eustace.
