Youngs better for England experience

Fri, 30 Jul 2010 13:37

Young Leicester star Ben Youngs says that the recent England tour has done wonders for his fledging career, and will eneter this season's Premiership a much-improved player.

The 20 year-old scrumhalf was a revelation on the Australasian tour, and he is being tipped for an illustrious career in the national side.

The experience has been great for his development as a player, according to the man himself.

He told BBC Radio Leicester: "It was tough and really intense but fantastic.

"People will hopefully be able to look at me to have a little bit more input with regards the game management."

Youngs added: "You get that experience and know if you make mistakes at the top level you will get punished.

"The hardest thing now is trying to stay there. I need to perform week in, week out.

"But I've had a break away from rugby, took it easy and refreshed the mind and I feel really good and ready to hit the ground running."
