Wasps problems prop-erly solved

Sat, 03 May 2008 10:37

London Wasps have alleviated the prop pressure by bringing tighthead prop Sam Heard into their squad for the remainder of the 2007/08 season.

Wasps are currently three props short of a full complement: Phil Vickery and Pat Barnard have knee injuries whilst Nick Adams has an Achilles problem.

Heard, who has plied his trade this season with National Division One side the Cornish Pirates, began training with Wasps this week.

Director of Rugby Ian McGeechan said: "As we are currently without three tighthead props due to injury, the RFU and PRL gave the club permission to register another player for the remaining weeks of this season.

"We brought in Sam as someone who has a good reputation in the First Division, and we are very pleased to welcome him into the London Wasps squad until the end of the season."
