Charvis: 'There's life in me yet'

Newport Gwent Dragons coach Paul Turner feels there could be a major Heineken Cup role waiting for player-coach Colin Charvis, looking on to Saturday's opener against Glasgow.
"You never know after that, we always envisaged playing him [Charvis] at some stage and he was outstanding," Turner told BBC Sport, after the Dragons 25-14 EDF Energy Cup win over Newcastle.
The classy 35-year-old international flank came off the bench last Friday for a match-winning 30-minute cameo performance.
"I'm a better player than coach, we'll see where it goes now," said Charvis, after his first game of the season.
"There's still a bit of life in me yet, I enjoyed every minute of it, it was just good to get on the pitch with the guys."
The Dragons will now face a testing time in pool five - squaring off with Bath, Toulouse, as well as the Glasgow Warriors.
"We know we have to start with a win with those other two to come," said Turner.
"We'll be up against the in-form club of the Guinness Premiership, and the Real Madrid of rugby.
"But we've won three on the trot, there's a good feeling about the place and a few players to come back from slight bumps, the squad's in good shape."
The Dragons will be on a revenge mission of sorts this weekend, following their 6-12 defeat to the Warriors in their opening Magners League game of the season at Rodney Parade.
"Glasgow are a good side, we've got something to settle after that last defeat," said Turner.
"We have to keep Dan Parks quiet and play the right kind of game against them.
"There was a dreadful monsoon the night we lost to them and we tried to play too much while they didn't play anything. We've learnt a lot from that," he added.
