Sale star Luke McAlister has given Munster a friendly warning ahead of their trip to Stockport next weekend for their Heineken Cup clash with the Sharks.
The All Black centre was in fantastic form on Saturday as the Guinness Premiership side overcame Clermont in France and clearly stated their seasons intentions for all to see.
With a try, three conversions and two penalties to his name the Kiwi was definitely the key to his sides performance. He himslef though has quickly turned his attentions to the prospect of Munster next weekend.
The Irish club struggled to overcome Montauban in their Heineken Cup opener on Friday night and McAlister says they should expect another tough afternoon at the office when they head to Edgeley Park.
"Yeah, but it's not easy coming to Stockport. It's not a nice place for teams to play. We'll give them a warm welcome, “ said the former Auckland Blues star to the Daily Mail.
The 25-year-old was also making his European debut for his new side and says that he had definitely made sure he was ready for it.
"One of the reasons I came over here was to play in the big stuff and today was my first taste of it. I was up for it.
"To get the points was huge, but we've got to stay grounded."
Sale owner Brian Kennedy was thrilled with the teams result and praised them for finally coming of age and producing such an important result.
“That is our best result in Europe. A result like this puts the club on the map," said Kennedy.
"We're known for having an exciting team with great potential, it's just nice to see it being fulfilled."
