England international Jordan Crane says visiting Perpignan will present a "massive challenge" this Saturday when they arrive at Welford Road for their Heineken Cup group match with the Tigers.
The home side currently sit on top of Pool Three, heading into the game with two wins from their opening two encounters of this seasons competitions.
Tigers No.8 Crane is expecting a tough test against Perpignan, who lie third in the French Top 14 after nine wins from their opening 12 games of the season.
Crane, who scored two tries in Tigers' last European game, away to Benetton Treviso, said: “We are at home against Perpignan, the fans will come out and it will be a great atmosphere.
“It’s going to be a massive challenge for us, but the spirit in the squad is good.
"It’s the Heineken Cup, it’s a massive game and everyone is determined to perform.”
Crane became the newest international in the Leicester Tigers squad when he made his England debut as a replacement against world champions South Africa during the November internationals last month.
The 22-year-old, who is a member of Martin Johnson’s elite player squad, said: “The result was disappointing but it was good for me to get out there and get a taste of Test rugby. I was really excited to be involved and to make my debut against the world champions was great for me."
