Thu, 04 Dec 2008 18:22
Back to the European business then? All 24 teams are in action this weekend and once again we have some cracking little encounters to look forward to.
While Stade Francais vs. Quins may well have been picked as the match of the weekend there are plenty of others worth keeping an eye on. Blues/Biarritz, Leicester/Perpignan, Toulouse/Dragons - great clashes all of them.
Lets see then what rugby365 expects to happen when all this European action gets underway...
Friday, 05 December 2008
Edinburgh v Wasps
rugby365 Prediction: Wasps will be boosted by the return of a number of their England stars and are desperately in need of a win to keep in touch with Leinster and therefore keep their chances of qualifying alive. Wasps by five or more.
Sale v Montauban
rugby365 Prediction: A very strong Sale side should dominate the
determined, but unfortunately outclassed men from Montauban. Sale by 12 or more.
Cardiff Blues v Biarritz
rugby365 Prediction: Very cool little matchup this one. A very tough Pool 6, this back-to-back matchup could decide much of the group. Biarritz have failed to really fail so far this season and Cardiif at home, with stars returned, should win by less than 6.
Saturday, 06 December 2008
Leinster v Castres
rugby365 Prediction: The Irish powerhouse should simply have too much for the Top 14 side. Brian O'Driscoll's men to win by 15 or more.
Leicester v Perpignan
rugby365 Prediction: If only Dan Carter was playing. What a match this would have been then. That said Perpignan remain a class side without the Kiwi star and will head to Welford Road with a lot of believe. The Tigers though are fierce at home.
Heyneke Meyer's men to win by 10.
Ospreys v Treviso
rugby365 Prediction: Comfortable day at the office for the Welsh giants. Ospreys by 20.
Toulouse v Newport-Gwent D'gons
rugby365 Prediction: The Dragons wil never lie down for any team but, over 80 minutes, the French team should prove to be simply too powerful. Leading the group without really having shown their true form yet Toulouse may well hit their straps against the team from Newport. Toulouse by 8 or more.
Calvisano v Gloucester
rugby365 Prediction: The Cheery and Whites good run will roll on for another week as they travel to Italy expecting a comfortable win. Gloucester by 10 at the very least.
Sunday, 07 December 2008
Bath v Glasgow
rugby365 Prediction: Two sides both performing
very well in their domestic competitions bu needed another good result this weekend to keep their European hopes alive. At the Rec Bath rarely disappoint. Bath to win but by less than seven.
Clermont Auvergne v Munster
rugby365 Prediction: The defending Champions are undefeated after two but this week travel to the dangerous Clermont. Humbled by Sale the alst time they played at home in Europe the Top 14 side will be desperate not to have that result repeat itself. Munster though are reknowned for winning the tough ones. The Irish region by less that five.
