Both Jerome Thion (Biarritz) and Chris Hala U'fia (London Irish) could well find themselves in trouble this week after the ERC confirmed that both players would face independent Disciplinary Hearing for punching opponents during the weekends Heineken Cup action.
Both hearings are set to take place on Thursday in Dublin with Thion faces a charge arising from the Heineken Cup Pool 2 match against Glasgow Warriors at Parc des Sports Aguilera on Sunday.
The citing lodged by the Citing Commissioner for the match, John Byett (England), is for an alleged punch / strike on lock Richie Gray (No 4) in contravention of Law 10.4 (a).
Hala'ufia meanwhile was citing by France's Jean-Claude Legendre for his punch on Leinster captain Leo Cullen.
Under the IRB Recommended Sanctions for Offences Committed within the playing enclosure, striking another player with a hand, arm or fist carries can carry anything from a two week to a 52 week ban.
