Biarritz switch Hunt to centre for final

Fri, 21 May 2010 14:19

Biarritz have decided to move Karmichael Hunt from flyhalf to centre when they clash with Toulouse in the Heineken Cup final in Paris on Saturday.

Hunt started at flyhalf during Biarritz's win over Munster in the semifinal, but he will take up the No.12 jersey for the final, forming a partnership with Arnaud Mignardi in the middle of the park.

The 29-year-old Julien Peyrelongue, who has been capped six times by France, starts at flyhalf in a new look halfback combination with Dimitri Yachvili.

South African Eduard Coetzee is once again preferred to French international prop Fabien Barcella, who will warm the bench at the start of the match. Coetzee forms a formidable front row together with Campbell Johnstone and Benoit August.

The irrepressible Imanol Harinordoquy has recovered well enough from his broken rib to claim his place at the back of the scrum in the starting XV.

As expected star centre Damien Traille was unable to recover from his arm injury in time to be included in the match-day squad.

Biarritz: 15 Iain Balshaw, 14 Takudzwa Ngwenya, 13 Arnaud Mignardi, 12 Karmichael Hunt, 11 Jean-Baptiste Gobelet, 10 Julien Peyrelongue, 9 Dimitri Yachvili, 8 Imanol Harinordoquy, 7 Wenceslas Lauret, 6 Magnus Lund, 5 Trevor Hall, 4 Jérôme Thion, 3 Campbell Johnstone, 2 Benoit August, 1 Eduard Coetzee.
Replacements: 16 Romain Terrain, 17 Fabien Barcella, 18 Rémy Hugues, 19 Manuel Carizza, 20 Florian Faure, 21 Valentin Courrent, 22 Philippe Bidabe, 23 Ayoola Erinle.
