Elissalde calls time on his career

Sun, 23 May 2010 13:54

Toulouse and France playmaker Jean-Baptiste Elissalde on Saturday announced his retirement from the game after his club's 21-19 victory over Biarritz in the final of the Heineken Cup.

The 32-year-old Elissalde was named on the bench for the final despite having picked up a groin injury three weeks ago.

Capped 35 times by France, he will however take part in the Barbarians matches in June before joining the backroom staff at Toulouse.

Elissalde has twice been a European champion (2005, 2010) with Toulouse, and won the Six Nations in 2004, 2006 and 2007 with France.
