Quinlan's delight at conquering Europe

Sat, 24 May 2008 20:57

Alan Quinlan, one of the stars in Munster's 16-13 win over Toulon in the Heineken Cup Final in Cardiff on Saturday, says all the hard work has paid off as his side tasted European success for the second time in three seasons.

Quinlan was a key player as the Irish side ground out a memorable win over the triple champions from France.

A shell-shocked Quinlan said: "This is just unbelievable, we have worked so hard for this.

"A few people wrote us off before this match, but we had so much support from everyone back home.

"Work have worked so hard for this, we have massive belief in the squad."

And Quinlan took time to thank the crowd, who sang throughout the match: "The crowd gave us a massive lift.

"Toulouse had us on the rack in the first 20 minutes, we were lucky to hold on, but we came through."
