Kenya has selected a strong and settled squad of 12 to play in the third and fourth legs of the International Rugby Board Sevens World Series, in Wellington and Las Vegas next month.
The two tournaments will take place on February 5 and 6 (Wellington) and February 13 and 14 February (Las Vegas).
The team, once again led by inspirational skipper Humphrey Kayange, will leave Kenya on January 18 to compete at the 'Hottest Sevens' event in Darwin, Australia, before travelling to Wellington and then on to Las Vegas.
After the first two events of the new season in Dubai and George, Kenya lie in sixth place having reached the Cup quarterfinals in Dubai and the Cup semifinals in George, on both occasions knocked out by eventual champions New Zealand by the tight scoreline of 17-14.
"The National Sevens team has been an inspiration during the last 12 months, when we have been one of the form sides during the IRB Series and also featured in the World Cup semifinals," said coach Benjamin Ayimba.
"The team participated strongly at both the Dubai and South Africa Series events," the former captain added.
In Wellington Kenya will play in Pool C alongside Tonga, United States and England.
At the US Sevens in Las Vegas, the Kenyans will also play in Group C - but face matches against Samoa, Scotland and Chile.
Kenya: Humphrey Kayange (captain), Gibson Weru (vice-captain), Lavin Asego, Innocent Simiyu, Sidney Ashioya, Brian Nyikuli, Victor Oduor, Collins Injera, Horace Otieno, Biko Adema, Andrew Amonde, Benedict Nyambu.
