Another case of the Blues for Munster

Fri, 01 Aug 2008 13:55

Munster announced on Friday that Blues eighthman Nick Williams will join their squad later in the year subject to the usual medical clearance and his obtaining a work permit.

Samoan born Williams played in 12 of the Blues 13 Super 14 games this season scoring tries against The Lions at Ellis Park and the Crusaders in Christchurch.

Williams is a very strong runner, and is devastating on the burst from the base of the scrum.

At 120 kilograms, the 24-year-old Williams should add plenty of muscle to the forward pack of the Heineken Cup champions.

Williams was chosen as captain of North Harbour for last year's Air New Zealand Cup campaign.

However, the big No.8 will miss this year's tournament with North Harbour due to a shoulder injury.

The player is expected to arrive at Munster in November.
