Connacht test waters, and go down

Sat, 23 Aug 2008 17:51

Connacht continued their pre-season preparations with a friendly against London Welsh at the Sportsground in Galway last Friday, going down narrowly to the visitors 12-17.

An experimental Connacht side trailed by 5-12 at half-time with hooker Conor Muldoon scoring his first try for the province.

Gavin Duffy crossed for Connacht's second try in the second half, with Ian Keatley adding the extras but it wasn't enough to cancel out a brace of tries from London Welsh No.8 Tom Brown and one from centre Tom Rock.

Connacht will conclude their pre-season campaign on August 26 when they host the Reds at the Sportsground on Tuesday evening.
