Twickers atmosphere excites Mullan

With a new slot in the calendar, due to the Rugby World Cup, the London Double Header takes place in Round Five of the 2015-16 Premiership. London Irish will take on their old rivals Wasps following reigning Premiership Champions Saracens facing league newcomers Worcester Warriors.

The last game between Wasps and London Irish in May was a thrilling 40-40 draw at the Madejski Stadium and Mullan insists that any opportunity to play at Twickenham is a special occasion.

"We don't look too far ahead of ourselves, but as a player any time you get the chance to play at Twickenham it's always special," he said.

"It is a special ground that a lot of people hold dear, and I'm sure it will be a great day and hopefully we can get a good win there when it comes to it.

"Having four sets of fans there makes it a brilliant day. Whenever I've been there before it's a great crowd, so I'm sure that will continue this year."

And Mullan is convinced early season victories and gaining momentum is the ideal way to secure a much coveted top-six position this season.

"Everyone is targeting early wins, and the Premiership is all about hitting some form early on," added Mullan. "You don't want to be chasing your tail from the start."
