Bath lock down Attwood

The lock has made 113 appearances for Bath since joining in 2011 from Gloucester, and has 20 England caps to his name.

Attwood has started four of the club’s five matches this season, including last weekend’s European Cup match against Leinster in which the 28-year-old was pivotal to securing victory.

“I'm thrilled to be able to be able to put pen to paper for another three years here at Bath,” said Attwood. 

“I feel like this club has massive ambitions and is one of the few clubs in Europe that has the components in place to achieve them. I love this city and the Rec, and the current playing squad and coaching set-up is hugely impressive. Right now in my career I want silverware, and my belief in this team’s ability to secure some was a prime reason why I wanted to stay put.”

Bath coach Mike Ford added: “Dave is a considerable asset to our team, as was evident against Leinster on Saturday. He was desperately unlucky not to make the World Cup with England, but we believe he’s in the best place here at Bath to push on for further international honours, in addition to taking this team forward.”
