Beaumont gets Sharks captaincy

The 23-year-old, has played 45 games for the club since his debut back in 2013, and has scored eight tries.

He replaces Dan Braid, who retired to join the coaching staff.

"Securing the signature of Josh on a three year deal is a big statement of intent for the club. Josh has come through the system at the club and is also a member of the England squad," said Director of Rugby Steve Diamond.

"He was ready for his full England debut before his injury at Worcester. He has worked hard on his rehabilitation and it won't be long now before he leads the team out.

"Josh, as everyone knows, comes from a rugby family and is a born leader."

The injury also forced him to miss the last three months of the Premiership season.

"With the takeover over the club being completed and the vision the new owners have I was delighted to sign and commit my future to the club," Josh said.
