Wallace re-signs for Quins

The openside flank Wallace has made 135 appearances for the club since his debut against Newcastle Falcons in 2009 and has scored 16 tries.

The Harlequins Academy graduate, who captained the club in the Premiership ‘A’ League and LV= Cup winning campaigns in the 2012/13 season, was called into the England Saxons squad that same season, before representing England’s XV side against the Barbarians in May 2014.

Commenting on the news, Wallace said: "I’m really excited to have committed my future to a club, coaching set up and squad that I truly believe in. My decision to renew was a quick and easy one. Harlequins is all I’ve known during my career and I can’t imagine being anywhere else.

"I’m looking forward to working hard with an exciting group of players and positively impacting the history of Harlequins,"

Confirming the news, Harlequins Director of Rugby John Kingston said: "I am delighted that Luke [Wallace] has committed his foreseeable future to Harlequins.

"He is respected hugely in the group, both as a person and as a quality back row forward.

"It is something of a mystery to me that he has not yet taken the step to the international squad to challenge for appearances on the highest stage. With the undoubted development, which still lies within him, I am sure it is only a matter of time,"
