Wasps bring in Harris on loan

With an ankle injury keeping regular loosehead prop Simon McIntyre sidelined and young loosehead Alex Lundberg also currently out with an injured ankle, Young has added some much-needed depth to his squad, with the addition of the 27-year-old prop.

The England Counties international joined Newcastle from Yorkshire Carnegie in the summer of 2015, having impressed with Carnegie and Rotherham Titans in the Championship for over five years.

On the signing, Dai Young said: "We’ve been left a little short with the injuries to Simon and Alex so we’re pleased to be able to add someone of Ben’s ability to the squad. He will add to our loosehead options and will complement the group of front row players at the club heading into a very busy period as we approach Christmas,"

The loose-head is yet to make a first-team appearance this season after recovering from knee surgery, but is now back to full fitness.

Falcons Director of Rugby, Dean Richards, said: "This is a great opportunity for Ben to go and get some game time.

"He has had time out injured but he is now fit to go, and his availability has come at a time when Wasps find themselves needing numbers in that position,"
