DISCIPLINARY HEARING: Northampton Saints' Calum Clarke has been banned for three weeks for striking an opponent with his elbow during a Premiership match last weekend.

The charge against Clark was heard in Coventry. Clark pleaded guilty and was given a three-week suspension. He is free to play again on Tuesday, December 13.

The incident occurred in the first half of the Premiership match between Northampton and Worcester Warriors last weekend and Clark was subsequently cited by the citing commissioner for dangerous play on Worcester's Donncha O'Callaghan.

The RFU discipline panel, said: "The panel found this was not a premeditated act but an intentional strike to the head of an opponent that merited a mid-range entry point of three weeks. The player's remorse before the panel was genuine and heartfelt."

The RFU Disciplinary panel comprised of  Sean Enright (Chairman), Tony Wheat and Chris Skaife.
