Dowsett previously spent three seasons with Australian Super Rugby franchise Brumbies, making 22 appearances for the Canberra-based side.

The livewire scrumhalf also featured for New Zealand outfit Southland in their  National Provincial Championship competition in 2016, while he also counts Canberra Vikings and New South Wales Country Eagles as former clubs.

Director of Rugby Gary Gold said: "Michael has shown tremendous professionalism since joining the club.

"He provides important competition in the scrumhalf position and he’s a hungry, enthusiastic individual who drives standards across the board,"

Dowsett added: "I’ve enjoyed my short time in Worcester so far and I’m looking forward to the future.

"Hopefully I can take my opportunities when they come along and help the team push on,"
