Tobias signs on for Zebre

The 26-year-old, son of 1980s Springbok Errol Tobias, has signed on for the Pro12 outfit till the end of the 2016/17 season.

He has already arrived in Parma and is immediately available.

He will bolster the hooker stocks – where Zebre have lost the services of Italian Test star Carlo Festuccia, who returned to Wasps in the Premiership.

Having started his first-class career with Western Province in 2010, he accumulated 22 caps before moving on to the SWD Eagles in 2012 (where he played 13 matches).

In 2013 and 2014 he played for the University of Pretoria in the Varsity Cup and also made eight appearances for the Blue Bulls.

In 2015 he moved to Griquas in Kimberley has made 12 appearances for them.
