Calypso meets Samba in qualifier

On Saturday at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Port of Spain, capital of Trinidad & Tobago on the island of Trinidad and Tobago meet Brazil in a World Cup qualifier.
This is the first leg. The second leg will be played a week later in Brazil.
The overall winner goes into the next round with Uruguay and Chile.
The teams got there by winning regional championships. Trinidad & Tobago won the Caribbean Championship, beating the Cayman Islands to do so, and Brazil won the CONSUR B championship, beating \Paraguay to do so.
The two teams have met in a World Cup qualifier in 2003 when Brazil won 11-10.
Brazil are expected to play a slower game while Trinidad & Tobago will try to speed things up. The Trinidad & Tobago coach Rhett Cheeping, a former national player of not a decade ago, is optimistic, saying: "On the day .It is up to the players. I have done everything possible to prepare them..I expect them to complete the job"
Brazil beat a Florida XV in Fort Lauderdale 29-5 in a warm up game.
Three of the Trinidad & Tobago team play for English clubs - Selwyn St. Bernard, Damian Martinez and Nigel Arismendez.
