Trinidad & Tobago won the Caribbean Championship when they beat Guyana 40-24 in the last match of the tournament on the Cayman Islands.
The tournament doubled as an IRB qualifier, which means that Trinidad & Tobago qualify for the next round which will be with the winner of the South American tournament involving Colombia or Venezuela, Paraguay, Brazil and Peru.
Trinidad & Tobago went into the tournament seeded sixth of wight sides but won it for the seventh time. The championship started in 1966 and Trinidad & Tobago won it in 1967, 1973, 1983, 1985, 1997, 2001 and 2008.
Three second half tries by Trinidad & Tobago captain Adam Fredericks and two conversions by Brendan O' Farrell saw home, but it was not easy.
At half-time Trinidad & Tobago led 21-12. Guyana scored first, a try by Theo Henry, and it was only a try in injury time by Felican Guerra that gave Trinidad & Tobago its lead, three tries to two.
Afterwards Trinidad & Tobago captain Fredericks: "Guyana fought hard. We dug deep. We were not going to let the title slip from our grasp."

It was a tight match between the two with the score 6-5 to champions Barbados at half-time after Barbados had led 6-0 at one stage.

After Mexico had led for moist of the match, Bahamas came back to snatch the victory. At half-time Mexico led 12-5.
