Argentina sevens coach Santiago Gómez Cora has been keen to involve Imhoff in the Argentina set-up ahead of the Olympic Games in August and is excited to have him with the team ahead of the series climax in London.

“Juan’s willingness to join us saw him deal with his club over the last few months; for different reasons he wasn’t able to come and play for us until now,” said Gómez Cora.

“He wanted to play the European final and then join us, so he is fulfilling part of his dream and we are delighted.

“He is a wing and probably will play there, but we will work with him over the next few days and we’ll see where he best fits the team.

"Players that can play in more than one specific position are always welcomed in Sevens.”

Imhoff joins an Argentina squad who are in fine fettle after their strong performance at the Paris Sevens.

Gomez Cora's side finished fourth, losing 26-17 to hosts France in the third place play-off.

They are currently fifth overall in the World Rugby Sevens Series standings.
