They won all three matches played on the final day and walked away with the overall spoils.

The tournament, held to provide the BlitzBoks some game time as part of their preparations towards the Sevens event at the Olympic Games in Rio next month, saw the South Africans finishing the day strongly with wins over outfits from Zimbabwe and Western Province.

The SA side won their opening match of the second day against Zimbabwe by 48-0, then saw off the challenge of a Western Province Invitational team 45-5, before beating Western Province in a very competitive final, winning 34-5.

Coach Neil Powell expressed satisfaction with the effort by his team.

"We achieved most of the aspects we wanted to look at," Powell said.

"The areas we worked on in training came through well. There is always room for improvement, but overall I am pleased," added the coach.

"We still have a couple of weeks to fine-tune things and will continue to work hard in order to do so."

Powell was not happy in the two tries they conceded on the day, but admitted that most of the defensive work is still to come.

"We have not spend too much time on our defence and attack so far, so although we are not happy with the two tries conceded, we will get to that.

We still have time to work on those things," Powell said.

Springbok Sevens wing Siviwe Soyizwapi was named Player of the Final following some solid work on attack.

"It was pleasing, but we play as a team and we share in these awards. It was a great tournament for us, as we had to get back into the swing of things," he said.
