DUBAI SEVENS, FINALS WRAP: The BlitzBoks put in a powerful performance to beat New Zealand 24-12 in their Cup Final at the Dubai Sevens on Saturday.

The South Africans outscored their opponents by four tries to two in the match.

The next leg of the World Sevens Series will take place in Cape Town next weekend.

Cup Final:

South Africa 24-12 New Zealand

It was a perfect start for the BlitzBoks when they went in front 7-0 after a Philip Snyman try.

The New Zealanders had no answers to the South Africans' ruthlessness as Seabelo Senatla and Albertus Smith also crossed the tryline to take the tally to 19-0 after four minutes. The score would remain the same until half-time.

New Zealand made life tough for the BlitzBoks in the second half and they found themselves only seven points behind late in the match after two tries.

However, the BlitzBoks would have the final say with a Tim Agaba try to claim the title.

Bronze Final:

Fiji 21-28 England

There was plenty of action in this see-saw encounter. England took the early lead with a try before Fiji hit back with two tries to take the lead.

However, England finished the half the stronger of the two by scoring another two tries to go into the break leading 21-14.

England increased their lead early in the second half before Fiji got a consolation try. In the end, England won 28-21.

Fifth place play-off:

Samoa 17-22 Australia

Samoa were brilliant out of the starting blocks and the raced to a 12-0 lead after two tries. However, it did not take long for Australia to hit back with two tries themselves to level the scores at 12-12 going into the break.

Australia took an early lead in the second half before Samoa levelled matters again. However, Australia would have the final say with a winning score late in the game.

Trophy Final:

France 21-12 Spain

It was all France in the first half as they ran in two tries to go into the break leading 14-0.

Spain launched a massive fightback in the second half and they found themselves just two points behind France before the French secured the victory with a third and final try before the end.

Thirteenth place play-off:

Wales 26-7 Uganda

Wales were dominant throughout their match with Uganda and they enjoyed a comfortable 14-0 lead thanks to two converted tries.

Wales scored another two tries to just the one from Uganda in the second half to secure a comfortable 26-7 victory.
