Stormers' speedster rejoins Sevens circuit

Senatla, who has missed a considerable amount of sevens action, will be free to join the South African Sevens side for the last two World Sevens Series tournaments in London and Paris in June.

The speedster's return to the BlitzBoks headquarters in Stellenbosh means that he is likely to miss the Stormers clash against the Lions at Newlands on Saturday.

The familiar sight of Senatla training with the  BlitzBoks was revealed via a post on SA Rugby's Instagram account.

Unlike Senatla, who struggled to impose himself in the Stormers XV,  other two BlitzBoks, Albertus Smith and Tim Agaba have enjoyed their time at the franchises and will be unavailable for the two upcoming tournaments.

Lions flank Albetus Smith revealed that he has decided to put all his focus on the 15-man format in the pursuit of a potential Springboks career.

While the Bulls' Tim Agaba has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a bicep injury.

Furthermore, the Neil Powell's most experienced squad member Kyle Brown will also miss the last two tournaments due to damaged ligament sustained in Singapore last month.

While, Branco du Preez, Ruhan Nel, Justin Geduld and Philip Snyman are also all back from either injury or a rest period.

The Blitzboks are currently second on the World Rugby Sevens Series log after eight tournaments. They trail Fiji by three points and will have all to play for as they aim to defend their series title. Neil Powell’s side made the top four in all eight tournaments thus far this season, pointing to their consistent performances since the opening tournament in Dubai in December last year.

South Africa will contest Pool D at the London Sevens, along with Samoa, Canada and Russia and if they make it into the Cup quarter-finals, they could meet either Fiji, New Zealand, Scotland or Argentina, all drawn in a highly competitive Pool A.

Australia, Wales, Spain and Ireland will play in Pool B, with the latter being invited as 16th team. The hosts, England, will face Kenya, USA and France in another competitive pool.
