6NB fixtures for 2008-09

Tue, 09 Sep 2008 15:35

The European Nations Cup, Division 1, often referred to as the Six Nations B, takes on added significance for the part it will play in providing qualifiers for the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

It is a disjointed competition because of the harsh weather in central Europe, not nearly as neatly packaged as the Six Nations.

The competition runs over two seasons and this time welcomes a newcomer in Germany who won promotion at the expense of Czech Republic.

The first two teams in Division 1 will qualify for the 2011 World Cup as Europe 1 and Europe 2. The third placed team will be in competition against the winners of the next five divisions, starting in May 2009.
