Zas awaits his fate

Zas is alleged to have contravened Law 10.4 (i) Tackling… an Opponent jumping for the ball in a line-out or in open play, when he made contact with Waratahs flyhalf Bernard Foley. Zas made contact with Foley who was in the air attempting to catch a ball during the match

The case is to be considered in the first instance by SANZAAR Duty Judicial Officer Nigel Hampton.

For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the DJO.

In a similar incident last week, Jason Emery of the Highlanders made contact with Willie le Roux's (Sharks) legs, which caused him to land in a dangerous fashion. After consultation with the TMO, the referee awarded a red card.

Emery was subsequently suspended for four weeks after a Judicial Hearing.

Meanwhile, Cheetahs flank Paul Schoeman has also been cited during his team's 17-30 loss to the Reds in Brisbane on Saturday.

Schoeman is alleged to have contravened 10.4 (e) Dangerous tackling of an opponent including the action known as the “stiff arm" tackle during the match between the Reds and Cheetahs at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on 30 April 2016.

Upon review of the match footage, the Citing Commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had met the red card threshold for foul play.
