This partnership will see the two unions working closely together to take the Stormers franchise forward by assisting each other in player development, exchanging coaching and player resources, forging a relationship between the clubs and schools of the WPRFU and SWD Eagles Rugby and using the Stormers brand to promote and grow the game of rugby in the South Western Districts.

President of the WPRFU Thelo Wakefield said that he is looking forward to working with South Western Districts to build the Stormers brand further.

"I would like to welcome South Western Districts back into the Stormers fold, it will be great to work closely with them once again for our mutual benefit," he said.

South Western Districts President Hennie Baartman said that the partnership is an exciting development for rugby in the area.

"We are very happy to be back in the Stormers fold, and we are looking forward to working with the Western Province Rugby Football Union once again," he said.
