Jaguares' discipline needs to be addressed
In their debut season, the Argentine side's ill-discipline has cost them in a number of games and it was no different against the Southern Kings in Port Elizabeth on Friday.
The Kings scored three late tries when Jaguares were reduced to 12 men and won 29-22.
The Argentine visitors had lock Tomas Lavanini and tighthead prop Ramiro Herrera red carded during the first half for shoulder charges to the heads of South African opponents.
And in the 70th minute they were down three men when flank Lezana Tomas was yellow-carded for repeated infringements – collapsing a maul illegally immediately after the referee had put them on 'final notice'.
"We have to correct discipline," said lock Guido Petti after the game. "With two less it eventually it became difficult."
Flyhalf Nicolas Sanchez echoed his teammate's sentiments and believes they made the game easier for the Kings in the final minutes.
"We did what we could," said the playmaker.
"We had to totally change our style. They [Kings] realised when we had 12 players on the field, if they move the ball they would find the spaces."
The Jaguares have only recorded two wins so far this season and have no chance of making the play-offs this year.
