Sharks lure Baby Bok captain to Durban

The Kings centre have signed with the Durban-based franchise for the 2017 Super Rugby season.

Ward (20), born in Port Elizabeth, captained his country at the Junior World Championship in England earlier this year.

Sharks lure Baby Bok captain to DurbanHe has come through the age-group ranks in PE – having played in Eastern Province Under-16 squad that participated at the Grant Khomo Week tournament in 2012.

He also represented EP at the Under-18 Craven Week on two occasions – 2013 and 2014.

Earlier this week it was also confirmed that Springbok assistant coach Ricardo Loubscher has joined the Sharks coaching team ahead of this year's Currie Cup Premier Division.

It comes a week after confirmation that former Springbok captain Gary Teichmann was officially appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of the Sharks – in place of another former Bok skipper, John Smit.
