Force lose captain McCalman

McCalman had to undergo surgery after he dislocated right thumb in training last week. However, he should be fit for the Force's first Super Rugby match against the Waratahs on February 25.

Meanwhile, loosehead prop Francois van Wyk is out of action for six weeks after injuring his calf muscle in a friendly against Perth Spirit last weekend.

Despite the absence of those two players, the Force will have a talented squad competing at the Tens. Wallaby duo Tatafu Polota-Nau and Luke Morahan, new signing Robbie Coleman, veteran Matt Hodgson and Curtis Rona and Chance Peni have all been included in the squad.

"We have a really good balance in the squad, a really strong squad who are excited to play that style of game," skills coach Kevin Foote, who will take charge of the side in Brisbane.

"Importantly we want to go out there and enjoy playing the game."

Western Force squad: Richie Arnold, Marcel Brache, Robbie Coleman, Mees Erasmus, Jono Lance (replacement for Peter Grant), Richard Hardwick, Ross Haylett-Petty, Matt Hodgson, Onehunga Kaufusi, Kane Koteka, Ryan Louwrens, Semisi Masiwera, Luke Morahan, Isi Naisarani, Alex Newsome, Chance Peni, Matt Philip, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Ian Prior, Anaru Rangi, Curtis Rona, Michael Ruru, Brynard Stander, Heath Tessmann, James Verity-Amm, Shambeckler Vui.
