Good and bad news for Stormers

Stormers coach Robbie Fleck confirmed they will be without wing Seabelo Senatla, loose forward Rynhardt Elstadt and lock John Schickerling, while powerhouse prop Wilco Louw is doubtful for the clash.

"Wilco Louw suffered a sternum injury, so he is not looking good for this weekend," Stormers head coach Robbie Fleck told reporters at the team's base on Monday.

"Seabelo Senatla [foot] had scans this morning [Monday] and we are still waiting on the final results on that. He is certainly our for this weekend, but I don't know for how long.

"Rynhardt Elstadt suffered an ankle injury. Initially it looked quite serious, but hopefully after the scans, it won't be too bad. He is certainly our for this weekend as well."

Fleck said Senatla's injury was an "untimely" one.

"He actually got injured quite early in the game, but he played through it.

"In broken play he was deadly – there is still a few things that he needs to work on.

"He showed glimpses of what he can do and he is a natural talent. We are happy to have in our squad, but it is an untimely injury again for us.

While losing those players to injury is a setback, the Cape side does welcome back a few experienced players for the Cheetahs clash.

Backs Jano Vermaak, Sarel Marais and Cheslin Kolbe have been declared fit for selection this week.

Loose forward Nizaam Carr also returns and will likely take Elstadt's place in the matchday squad.

The Stormers are also set to have Springboks Eben Etzebeth, Frans Malherbe and Pieter-Steph du Toit back after their rest last weekend.
